Painting the hull

I'm working on a 1/350 Wisconsin and here's what I did. Spray the waterline area flat black.

I used 3/16" wide masking tape at the waterline to produce the boot topping. Leave this tape on and mask above it and spray the lower hull dark red. Mask the lower hull and remove masking from the upper hull leaving the boot topping tape in place. Spray the upper hull color of choice.

Remove lower hull masking and boot topping tape and touch up if necessary. Getting the 3/16" boot topping tape around the stern will be tricky!  modelbob@hotmail.com
