USN WWII Lifering colors
Posted by PatlaborUnit1 on Friday, February 29, 2008 9:49 AM

Can someone point me to the color used on liferings on UNS ships during WWII?

I would tend to think orange/red but I have been told at times white or blue to blend in with the camo used.

Can anyone remember color photos showing this? all I see are very fuzzy B&W.

thanks!

David

Life rings, life rafts, and similar equipment was to be painted as to blend with the bulkhead color on which they were mounted.   5N bulkhead -- 5N lifering.
