1/508 USS Long beach 1982 issue kit. Anyone interested?

I was given this kit, and im not really interested in building it. Its a pretty freaky scale-1/508 all the peices are there as well as instructions, decals, and, flags. Im curious weather there's a p.e. set for this kit, it really needs one. If anyone is interested in swopping or buying let me know. The kit represents the ship as she appeared in 1961 when launched.

I remember building this kit years ago. It has a removable deck panel that reveals two nuclear reactors. All the antenna are thickly cast, as i said it really needs some P.E. railings & antenna arrays etc.

I don't really know it's value. I guess I need to search around some sites, and, get a bead on it. Im just as interested in trading for something. What a strange scale, I really don't recall ever seeing another ship in 1/508. its definately got potential if you could adapt some P.E. parts etc.

Wow a 1969 uss Long beach you sure do have me beat. I have a brother in law who served on Long beach around that time, and, he had gotten me an early issue kit around then. I have no idea whatever happened to it. Probably the fire cracker proving grounds.

I used to see the Long Beach and Chicago (dissimilar twins) a lot. Oddest looking warships I ever layed eyes on. But cool, in their way.

Odd being under represented. Why is it that the only company to release a Long Beach class ship is Revell. And why over the Decades it is really the only injection molded kit in existance?
