I've been to both of those sites, the one I like the most is http://www.titanic-model.com/. It has to be the most spectacular Titanic modeling and information site I've run across.

The Titanic model I currently have is the Revell 1/570 scale. Its a bit cheesy and lacks detail. That is why I'm probably going to use this one for a wreck build. If I find good information on the fiber I will either get a better model or use it in one of my Mauritiana models. Supposedly there is a fiber kit just for this model I have. I believe it goes for $128.

I rebuilt a lot of parts.  I especially liked the cabin walls on the upper decks that had the detail (windows, doors, etc.) molded on the WRONG side of the walls!  Sheesh.  I heard that kind of thing got fixed for the reissue after the Cameron movie came out.  I bought my copy just before the reissue.

Which model do you have?  And, what was the website you visited?  Was it this one?  It's the one I used for lighting.

I also used this website to help find inaccuracies of the Minicraft model.

When I was working on my Titanic, I got a supply of plastic fiber from Tom's House of Fiber.  Unfortunately, I can't find him on the net, and I looked at the package of leftover fiber last night, and there wasn't any label on it. :(

I work with the real stuff (for computer networks) sometimes, and it is NOT a pleasure to use.  It's too thin for most model applications, and rather dangerous.

Hey! Dirk Pitt!   It's like I'm posting a reply to myself!

       Anyway, I was going to suggest  a trip over to Starship Modeler (starshipmodeler.com).  They have a lighting section in the forums over there and quite a few guys who are gurus at that sort of stuff.

    Good to see another Cussler fan on board!
