Sara CV-3 early years flight deck question

I'm looking for information on the USS Saratoga's flight deck in the 1930s. Understand that there was some planking that ran athwartship bisecting the normal port to starboard flight deck planks. Does anyone know of any documentation that would support this? Also, how many planks made up the center line?
