Hiya guys. I realy wanted to build a big battleship and I was wondering if anyone out there has some suggestions. I'd realy like to get one of those 1/350 scale models of the Tirpits or King George V by Tamiya, but I'm kinda new at ships and I didn't wanna get into something too hard. thanks

You might want to try a Tamiya 1/350 Fletcher class destroyer to get you feet wet in ships. It's a GREAT kit with little fit problems that goes together well. Then if you feel up to it you could try a Battleship. Tamiya also makes a great Yamato and USS Missouri kit too.

Howdy,

If you are interested in building a Tamiya battleship, try the MiniHobby New Jersey or Missouri first. These are Tamiya molds produced by MH in China, but they don't carry the hefty Tamiya pricetag.

As was told to me, MiniHobby is producing these for the chinese market because the chinese folks wanted them but couldn't afford the Tamiya price. These kits where suppose to be exclusive to China not to exported.

Academy(Korea) use to carry it, Trumpeter has it too in China or any parts in Asia. The whole range of Tamiya 1/350 ships. You probably have to pay more outside China, but in China t's around US$14, grab them if you can get them at US$11. I got mine at US$9 for my New Jersey, Missouri & Prince Of Wales. Academy will probably cost half the price of Tamiya, likely lesser, I've got an Acedemy Bismarck.
