I thought they were the same kit. But I only had the one so I couldn't say for sure. But yes kit is crude. And I paid way too much myself.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, I think they are the same kit, so no difference at all. Got mine(minicraft) from China ( you won't wanna know how much.), she comes with photoetch parts (rudimentary - railings & the basic stuff.). Need to get further photoetch part for the boat davit & so forth. Have not build the kit yet, from the look of it, some place rather crude, a fair amount of work is need to turn her out decently. Thinking of replating the iron plate on the hull, the one moulded on it seem a bit too crude. I think we'll have to live with it, dun think any one's gonna release a new kit on this in any near future.

I don't know about the Academy. But I did the Minicraft one. Poor fit. Ejection pin marks EVERYWHERE, inaccaurties, you name it. Supposedly they fixed the inaccuarties. I'd be leary of it though. It's possible the Academy is the same kit, but I don't know.

1/350 Titanic: Academy or Minicraft?

Hello everyone, hope you had a great Halloween.

I am interested in an ambitous project of modeling the 1/350 scale RMS Titanic. There are two kits available in plastic. Academy's and Minicraft's. Can anyone who's worked on these give me some input on which they think is the better kit?

Thanks in Advance.
