Could be... On the Imai version, I simply used a couple thinned down washes of black and dark brown, and it came out quite well. The hull is basically finished and 90% of the painting, but there are all the cannons to mount, and then of course there is the rig.... One interesting point about the Imai kit, the bowsprit is actually wood! Really odd, when you consider everything else in the kit is plastic! As I think i mentioned somewhere in another string, I really like ship kits that are large enough to get good detail, yet remain small enough that I can handle them easily. I have spent many hours considering the Chebek hull, its strengths and weaknesses, determining its abilities, and it really is a quite remarkable design!
