I hope that the Norwegian Museum pictures that was on the old debris Field will be back again.

They had great photos of Toyama and Trinidad, in big scale models.

Perfect for detailing, the Imex kits.

Tom's Modelworks has generic PE rail sets in 1/500 and 1/600 scale.

Hasse!

Good to see you posting here again!

I'll see if I can dig up that link.

Fred

Edit: PS, I think I found your link, but it was to the old 'debris field' site, and was no longer active.

Hi! Modelbob.

If you want to build the Tampa, you can as well use Imex container ship Toyama.

It´s the same model, only that Tampa has extra containers in the model.

They are so bad shaped that they are to no use anyway.

The model Tampa don't exist its only a fake name made by the Imex company, Tampa .

Toyama was owned by Wilhelm Wilhelmsen.

There are one link that i had put in the Forum a long time ago from Willhelm Wilhelmsens Museum, try to find it there are some excellent photos of Toyama and Imex Trinidad in big scale.

Maybe good old Fred find the link?

Regards Hasse.

If space is an issues, Loose Cannon Productions has a nice little kit of the Atlantic Jamaican in 1/700, which has containers, loading crane and whatnot, but no container decals, for $25.

There are a couple of threads on this forum about the Tampa kit. This is one of them:

If one wanted to put some extra work into this, it might be a nice build. Getting various logos on the containers would be cool

I've thought about the same for my office for the same reasons.  There are some very nice kits for large scale models mostly geared towards the R/C market.  But they would make great static models.  A little expensive though.  If you google container ship model you'll find them.  Here are a few....

This is a much neglected segment of the ship modeling world.

Good luck

I have never seen one in the flesh, but I've seen a few builds on the web. Detail looks minimal, but I suppose it could be built into a passable model. I recall someone saying it represents no actual ship, just a generic 'container ship'.
