Gold Medal vs Toms Models p/e sets
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 10:24 PM
hello everyone, Im looking to buy one of the p/e sets for my 1/350 Arizona. Does anyone know the difference between the Gold Medal Models set and the Toms Model Works set.? Im just trying to justify paying $40.00(GMM set) vs $17.00. Is the GMM set that much better?

I'm not to sure about the millitary stuff but I do know that the two companies compliment each other very well.....Like for the 350 Titanic all sets from both sides are more than what you need! I can only assume that goes for all Thomas and Gold medal in this case as well.

I say get both if it were not for the $ thing :(

Mr. Perry of Gold Medal Models lives near me and I have seen his 1/350 Titanic and other ships in person abd WOW! this guy knows SHIPS!
Straighten up and fly right.....

Go to my site, www.modelwarships.com and check out the reviews of both sets...you can see the frets for yourself and compare.

Yes, Jeffs Site is excellent for ship modelers, all the info you need. I have used sets from both companies and if money is an issue Toms will do what you need without a problem.

IMHO, get the Gold Medal Models Arizona set (it's worth the $40) but get the Tom's boat details set. (only $16) That's the perfect combo for the Arizona - you'll be pleased with the results.
