S130 The last Schnellboot.... The Wheatcroft Collection's S130-- a site update

Hello Chaps

As many will know The Wheatcroft Collection has recently acquired the last remaining boat of this type. Her history is long, from the tragedy at Slapton Sands just before D-Day to covert cold-war operations in the Baltic, a quite remarkable craft.

A recent dive by a professional and highly experienced specialist recovery team from Nordic Marine has taken a number of videos for the restoration team to use in planning and reference, we have been given the unique opportunity of hosting them on the site for all to see.

This dive was on a number of boats sunk by their own crews and has recorded some fascinating and vital information to assist in the accuracy of the restoration of S130.

With the soon to be released 1/35th scale model of the S100 type boat, I would like to point you in the direction of the web site (above) which is dedicated to the restoration of this rare and impressive boat.

Our thanks to The Wheatcroft Collection for allowing us access as well as the public viewing of the material. We hope it helps with your modelling or just proves interesting to those with a fascination for all things WW2.

We hope you enjoy

hi there... I found it useful, I think I saw this link already over in Model ShipWrights. This forum is "less travelled" than the other subjects (armor, aircraft, dio), sometimes takes awhile to get a conversation going
