Hornet, oh baby!!!

My wife got me the trumpeter horneyt for my birthday, got it yesterday. She also somehow knew to buy the aftermarket set, I guess you call it the photetched stuff.

For those who did it, where did you start? Planes, deck, I assume painting is a daunting task. It really looks good and I see I will have to buy more B25s. How many on the Doolittle raid? I think 18, is that right?

Any fit problems I should be aware of?

Finally, what do most people do, full hull or waterline? What are the advantages of either? I normally do aircraft so we have the wheels up or down debate all the time.

The Doolittle raid consisted of 16 B-25s.

I haven't done a waterline ship yet (all my carriers and battleships have been full hull), but my next ship I want to do in waterline for a diorama.

16 B-25's on the Dolittle raid. Full hull or waterline depends on personal preference and how you plan to display. Me I plan on waterline. Actually I'm doing the Essex first (as a waterline) with a Tamiya Fletcher along side doing a mail transfer. At this time I plan on using Sculpey for water.

As for the rest I can't tell you for sure. I haven't done it yet. I just bought mine on e-bay, and it should be in the mail in the next day or 2.
