The Air Groups rotate between carriers over time.  Squadrons occasionally change within groups during their time. If you pick out a specific time, you can research what Groups/Squadrons were aboard a particular carrier at that time.

How can you find out what air groups were assigned to which carriers during their deployments? I would like to build a correct period Nimitz class carrier in 1/350th and I was wondering who could tell me what groups and airplane complements were aboard during the years since the Nimitz class was started.

Thank you!
