                        Although not a modelling subject, I thought it appropriate to post here.

                        Does anyone have a copy of the Yamato (aka: Otoko tachi No Yamato) DVD that was released in Japan a couple of years ago.  More importantly where could I order one that has English subtitles and is Region 1 (North America) compatible.

                        I have done a Google search and can only find Region 3 DVDs from Asia.

                        RODC,

                        I have had mine for awhile.  I got it on ebay as no one carries it.  I found an ebay 'company/vendor' that had a very good rating, and recent ratings.  If you look you can find one that plays in all regions.  I believe mine was ordered from overseas.  I had no issues.

                        You may want to contact DVDAsian, they list an all region DVD of "Otokotachi No Yamato" with english subtitles. It is currently out of stock, but email them to find out if they can restock the title.

                        My wife presented me with a copy that she got through Amazon.com. It plays in all regions and has English and Chinese subtitles. The English subs are excellent translations with attention to the colloquialisms in both languages, which made for an enjoyable viewing.

                        The story is good, if a little too similar to another ship disaster. The CGI is stiff and worthy of a made for TV movie. The aircraft pull 12 G turns. Full-scale sets are superb and provide good insight into how the ship worked.

                        Find it and enjoy it!

                        Hi

                        This year the local PBS channel had, I think it was from "NOVA", a one hour episode on the Yamato. It would be another interesting video to add to your list. Check out PBS listings, and look in the NOVA series listings.
