Highresolution Shuttle and SCA pics from dvd.
Posted by DanTDBV on Monday, July 13, 2009 10:47 AM
I have gotten a DVD with about 931 highres Shuttle and SCA pics from Tony Landis, most of which is not available in these resolutions anywhere else.

I think they are great.

Tony Landis Quote "I'm just glad some people can finally find a use for some of this stuff. Feel free to share the images with whomever you want in any way you want to get them out there." Unquote.

With Tony's blessing, i have uploaded the files to Rapidshare.com, in this folder, there is almost 3GB in all.

Free downloadspeed is 500kb/second, so 200mb should take somewhere between 60 to 80 minutes. As i understand it they have removed the time penalty between downloads.

Fell free to upload on other services or on your own servers. Since neither Tony or me have a problem with anybody copying this content, anybody who want's to burn and distribute the material could do so, just include at least one copy of the doc file wherever it goes, and don't take more for it than it actually cost to create and send.

Text file from DVD included in the rar file sets:

The images contained on this DVD are primarily from the image files at the Dryden Flight Research Center. The majority of the launch and KSC landing images are from the NASA JSC image server. Along with those are random images scanned from the National Archives or are from the personal collections of Dennis Jenkins and Tony Landis. The two sets of Space Shuttle and 747 SCA detail photos were shot by Tony Landis while the Orbiters/SCA's were at Dryden.
All of the images are saved as high res jpegs and, where possible, they were scanned from the original negatives or are from the original digital files. These are raw scans with only minimal color correction and cleanup done to each. For the DFRC imagery, any data such as description, date, and neg number about an image can be found in the 'File Info' box when opened using Photoshop.
The images are more or less in chronological order on the DVD. Due the amount of imagery involved, it's tough to know for sure

For completenes heres a list of files:

Thanks for sharing these! I especially like the details in the STS-117 set. I haven't come across these in the archives from the NASA site. Thanks again.
