Hi all,

The Sigma 7 didn't place at Ft. Worth this past weekend but Freedom 7 took a first place award mounted on top of a Redstone Conversion I made using two Glencoe Jupiter C kits and a little bit of scratch building.  I thought you'd like to see the finished kit from the contest.  I'll post better pictures when I have a chance to taken them.

Thank you.  The Resin sets from Real Space Models certainly helped in that regard.  I'm working on the Gemini Spacecraft now and it's got lots of fixes needed to the exterior since it's old enough design to have landing gear doors for the original Rogallo wing option.  Lots of filling to be done.  I'll post pics when I get it done.

Nice work there. I appreciate the level of detail you added at that scale.

1/48 Mercury Spacecraft - Two for one special

I built these two vehciles from the Revell Mercury/Gemini set with RealSpace Models resin conversion set.  I had to make a cast of the heat sheild and retro pack from the Revell kit to finish Shepard's Freedom 7.  While the castings came out fine it didn't really matter since that bird is destined for the top of a 1/48 Redstone that is under construction using two Glencoe Jupiter C launch vehicles.  The RealSpace models set came with two noses one for on orbit and the other with the LES support ring allowing me to complete the two vehicles.  I built Sigma & using the Revell body shell and a lot of scratch building for the interior.  Comments are always welcome.
