A little over a year ago, when completing a couple of 1/48 Monogram Lunar Modules, I was looking for a set of replica US Navy Astronaut Wings to mount in the LM's display case. I intended to include the wings with an Apollo 12 mission patch, Grumman patch and a NASA patch. I couldn't find any anywhere.
Until this past week.
I happened upon World Wide Militaria www.wwmeinc.com. They had them, USAF ones too. Good quality and the service was excellent! I ordered last Thursday, 10/1, and they arrived today.
I really wasn't looking for astronaut wings, at the time, but I wanted some WW2 cloth USN Aviator wings to mount in the case with a 1/700 CV 6 Enterprise project I'm finishing. They had those along with WW2 leather flight suit wings I'll use for another project.
They include NASA medals, etc., too and the prices aren't bad.
For those of you who know about them, I imagine this isn't news, but for anyone looking for an extra detail to add something to display a model, I recommend them.
