The Dragon products I've seen are all are prebuilts. This would kinda put them between a toy and a model.

I dont mean to imply this is a bad thing.

Check again---the one I have is a bona-fide plastic model...

Not a bad thing being pre-built..

Don't need Dragon instructions.

 Manstein's revenge:

Even though I am not a BIG Space Groupie I did notice that Dragon had their lunar series of kits at half price on their web-site...just sayin'...

Interesting.

Just heard from a school chum that the old 1960s era Airfix Moon Lander kit was re-issued at $45 retail.

How does Dragon fare in price vs. Airfix now?

Gonna hafta look...................even though I'm not a BIG Space Groupie................

It fares pretty well---keeping in mind, of course, that I'm still not a BIG Space Groupie...

 Manstein's revenge:

This is the latest from Dragon:

http://images.kitlink.com/Products/images/Dmldragon/DRW50370.JPG

Sorta baffled at the price, as this M0J0 is twice as much as their "Lunar Approach" combo, at $80!!!

Interesting.

Might prompt a new , spinoff thread titled:

"Would you think twice about spending $80 on a Dragon kit ? "

Whisper

I did a little more research----this seems to be one of their pre-built and pre-painted offerings, which explains the price...pity they didn't release it as a conventional kit...

Now you've got me wanting several of the models.

I was there at Cap Kennedy for Apollo 11. We was able to get there a few days early and took the tour, we got within 1/2 mile of Apollo 11 on the pad and got to tour the assemby building. The power at lift off was unbeliveable, ever though we were almost 4 miles awaythe whole ground was shaking. Later I build the Saturn 5 model. Now I'm going to relive the time building this stuff alover again.

Actually, the entire Dragon Apollo space and figure selection looks good.

I am curious why the Saturn V rocket is in 1/400th

Airfix Heller and Academy have some 1/400th scale ship kits but I don't of many other models in the same scale for size comparison.

OTOH....it would be possible to display a Saturn V in a manner similar to the one displayed at the

U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville Alabama

I visited the museum during the 1980s and was amazed by the size of that Saturn V

Closest thing to such temperature extremes experienced by humans on earth may have been a burning Russian village in December 1941; either hot flames or cold snow & ice.

We're lucky on earth.

No such thing as moderation in space; either hot or cold.

I was watching the Apollo 13 movie last weekend and suspect that clips from movie would be a great sales tool for any store selling models of the Apollo space craft and Saturn launch vehicle.

We have a Saturn V here in Houston as well. It used to be outside but now they've built a building around it. There's lots of other Apollo stuff in there as well.

Building- (All 1/48) F-14A Tomcat, F-16C Blk 30, He 129
