Dragon's Saturn V
Posted by Kentucky Colonel on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 9:50 PM

Does anybody think Dragon's Saturn V is worth it?

I build a Saturn V in 1969 and when I saw that Dragon was coming out with one I started thinking about getting one. I think they stand close to 5 feet tall but that's ok.

I've never had a Dragon Space model so are they as good on detail as their tanks are? That's what I'm really after, the detail that would show up on a model that big.

No mater what I do I can't seem to find the time to build all the models I keep getting but I hope to build this one if I get it.

Thoughts?

I have the dragon 1/72 Gemini and LEM.

I have not built either yet but have opened them up and the detail on both are outstanding.

I posted photos here a while ago of the Gemini kit.

Do you have any links to see the Dragon's Saturn V model?

It will be a kit version of the preassembled and painted model that was released last year. Impressive sizewise, but had a number of detail shortcomings and omissions,

I am making their 1/72nd Lunar Approach at the moment & I am finding it a very enjoyable build. I can't comment on whether there are any accuracy issues, but it is well detailed & is going together nicely.

Thanks for all the info.

I wish there was a way to know if the detail in the Saturn V is as good as it is in their other Apollo models. Plus is it better than the preassembled one from last year. I email Dragon but so far nothing back. I guess we will have to wait until after it comes out for articles to do stories on it.
