You can make a second one of Voyager returning to Earth as V'ger.

Yes! How did I not check wikipedia? Now I just need to find someone who can wire up the base. I need a "maker".

You will need a lot of digits if you want to use miles or kilometers.  The distance of Voyager 1 from the sun is 128.748 astronomical units or 1.03997984 × 10^10 nautical miles or 1.19678743 × 10^10 International miles, or 1.92604267 × 10^10 kilometers. Its velocity relative to the sun is 38,072.6557 miles per hour. That's a little faster than your car.

Really? I'm looking for someone to help me work out the mathmatical formula that would be the basis for the Voyager odometer base that I want to build. Do you think he would be able to help with that?

My dad worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory when I was growing up.

Hmm. Not sure about that one. I just hope that the video of him doing weird things to his girlfriend wasn't included.

Saw a build from that kit take top place in a show in the real space category. I can indeed be made into a great model.

Thanks!

The PE really adds a lot. Especially with the magnetometer rig and the rig structure that holds the cameras.

Excellent job!

I did one of these also, sweet to assemble. If I get the itch to do this again, I'm going to pickup the PE set for this.

I'd like to share some pics of this really great kit. I just finished it up. I incorporated the eduard PE set, which includes the golden record and a long magnetometer arm (that I bent accidentally a couple of times).

I've always loved this spacecraft and I have something special in mind for the base. I'd like to build (or find someone who can build for me) a base for this that is essentially a rolling digital odometer that tells you exactly how far away voyager is from the Sun. I've been searching for someone who can help with this but have yet to find them. It's an ongoing search.

Here are the pics. Thanks for looking.
