"The Mysteries of Apollo" TV Series
Posted by GAF on Monday, June 17, 2019 10:16 PM

Just as a FYI, the Science Channel has been showing a series on space called "The Mysteries of Apollo".  It's not about how the astronauts saw UFOs all over the place, but delves into the missions, men and machines that were part of the space program.  Recommended.

If I can find links to the episodes online, I'll be sure to post them.

Gary;

     I have been watching this faithfully. You have an Ex F.B.I. agent, an Engineer and a Former Astronaut digging to Prove we actually did it .The Engineer thinks it was a hoax foisted on the public !

      A comment off screen really torqued me .Someone said we couldn't have done it ,Why? because the most difficult thing we had engineered so far was a toaster !

Tanker-Builder,

That is an entirely different program.

I tried watching it but had to turn it off in disgust.

This is getting tiresome.  All these conspiracy theorists do this to get attention.  Just like this stupid "flat earth" movement that is totally insane.   These people insist the earth is flat and reject/ignore all scientific proof that the earth is a sphere.   That show is bogus.  Even MythBusters busted many of the conspiracy theories that we didn't reallly land on the moon.  Amazing to me that an engineer can reject all natural sciences.  There are even current HD photos of the surface of the moon that clearly show the left-behind rovers, flags, and other equipment.  There are even laser reflectors on the moon and return earth based laser beams.  Come on already.  Forget the toaster, if man can design and build a plutonium and uranium bomb in the 40s, what's so unreasonable about sending man to the moon in the late 60s?  I would bet that these same conspiracy theorists claim that the great pyramid at Giza is just a mirage and not real.  Good grief.

Big Smile  No problem!  Easy mistake to make.  The "Mysteries of Apollo" program comes on Monday nights on the same channel, and "The Truth About the Moon Landings" comes on Tuesday nights.  The MoA program is actually just about the science and history of the program on various subjects.  Last Monday it was about the Saturn V and its development.

I do note that for an odd reason the experts and former employees who worked on the Apollo program all seem to be British!  I wonder if it was produced there?

I’m a little surprised that someone hasn’t done a tongue-in-cheek diorama for model competition’s humor category of the “fake” moon landing being filmed. Years ago the FSM Reader’s Gallery printed an amusing diorama on the “Egyptian pyramids could only have been built using alien technology” theme. It depicted an archeologist breaking through the wall of an Egyptian tomb and finding a giant work robot and his dead alien pilot who had been trapped in a cave-in millennia before.

I wonder if I have any scale figures that can be easily modified to look like director Stanley Kubrick?
