The worm is back!

This morning's paper had a story about NASA bringing back the worm.  It apparently will not replace the current logo, but will be used on a few pending space shots.  I'll have to see what I can find from that period to model, as a commemoration of that beloved logo.

Something a bit off topic but thanks to you Don, while searching for the "worm" logo, I found a site with some great coats/jackets with the NASA logo. Just ordered a few things from this site:

In addition, I sent a contact email to the host of this site asking that they create a hoodie/jacket/windbreaker of sorts devoted to the "Flying Tigers"

NASA marches to it's own drum. I've done a lot of work for them, primarily at the local Federal Airfield.

Their logos are in the public domain, but they do enforce their usage guidelines.

I'm not a fan of the worm, but I respect it. CNN will be thrilled.

So as far as models, the timeframe is 1974- 1992. Space Shuttle started in that time period, prior to that I guess there were Sky Lab missions.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Pre shuttle, the manned missions would be Apollo-Soyuz and Skylab. Additionally there were the Viking landers and Voyager probes.

Skylab was a bit earlier than the "worm" logo.  Here's a nice rundown.

1975 to 1992 you're golden!  Smile

PS> Not really a fan of the design.

Follow Up: Although I located the clothing shop which has the NASA style hoodies, I did locate something more relevant to the topic:

In thats case, its a shame I don't have a 3D printer and as soon as this corona virus thing passes, I can get use to the companies printer. Just haven't desided which rendering I want first. Been waiting for the "Dragonfly" model.
