1/24 Mercury Capsule
Posted by WZ2 on Sunday, September 18, 2022 12:21 PM

Hey everyone I picked up this 1/24 Mercury from the Model Bunker.   Fairly simple model but it seems well done with some detail.

No base or decals, though.   I think I'm going to scrounge a base from one of my old 1/24 Gemini kits.   Not sure about the decals though.   I'm thinking I could just use the decals from the old 1/48 kit if I could get someone to scale them up for me.   Anyone have thoughts on who could maybe do this?

Thanks, Chris

Chris, are you trying to post the pic directly from your computer? If so, it won't work: photos need to be hosted on a 3rd party site like Postimage or Imgur, then linked in your post here.

Apologies if you already knew that. If you're having issues with a particular site -- or if you have any other questions -- someone here will likely be able to help.

It's from Model Bunker.   Just do a web search and it is easy to find.   They are in Ireland I beleive.

Does RealSpace produce the decals?

If not maybe they could downsize the 1/12 set for you.

Can you post photos of the kit please?

Thanks

Hey Mach - sorry I just noticed this!   Not looking at decals yet.   Still trying to get problems with the kit resolved.   The little nose cone piece split apart and started curling up.   Apparently some uncured resin is the cause.   Bunker Models has promided to replace the piece after much communication.   Last I heard they said they sent a replacement but no tracking number provided.   They are in Ireland so usually takes a couple weeks to get here.   We'll see ....

Shame you can't do it as the sunken Mercury capsule.  I saw it on display at Kennedy Space center the last time I was there.
