My current modeling project...
Hello all,
Recently I was commissioned by a private collector back east to construct a scale model of an Apollo Command Module. This project, an ambitious one for sure, will take 3 months, over 800 square ft. of wood, over 2300 nuts, bolts and screws and countless custom made bits and pieces....
Did I mention it is 1/1 scale?
Currently the CM is about 65% complete and I am looking at a completion date or around the second or third week of June. It is being built with no interior and is designed for static display at a museum that is currently being built.
For those of you interested in following the progress of this you can watch it via a live video camera through my studios web site.
It has been a real challenge so far but this week I will be tackling one of the biggest problems, scratch building the inset rendezvous windows. I am still not quite sure how I am going to do them... but hopefully everything will fall into place as I go.
Take a look and let me know what you think. Just follow the "Studio Cam" link on my web site. If the image is dark..... it is nighttime.
