WOW!

this is real ambitious plan. You will spent thousands of hours on it. Fortunately there are a lot of references available through internet including original NASA references to do this. I think I have once find a guy (maybe it was Martin Rasmussen from Denmark?) on the web who is already doing the same,. unfortunately  I have not saved the link. You should join Space Modelers Discussion Group at Yahoo - http://groups.yahoo.com/space-modelers/messages to find friends and references for your project.

BTW NW008 detail set is including some valuable parts for your project - CM PE details and 2nd stage engine section details  - but sure not all, as this will mean that the set is containg not more than 200 parts, but more than 2000...

I picked mine up at Hobbylinc.com. They're out now, but I thought I'd toss their name in here because sometimes they have really awesome deals on stuff. Bought several things from them in the past and have been very happy with them.

I have 3 of these big guys waiting to be worked on.... WHEN I find the time.

I was disappointed in the article in the mag, though. Although I was glad to see this kit get some more press, to me it lacked quite a bit. I, for one, plan to detail the kit in it's entirety - each component separated, in kind of an "exploded view" type format. For instance, the escape tower and shield. Then recovery capsule. Then the CM. Then the LM. Then the 3rd stage with the doors folded down. Then the 2nd stage. Then the "collar" (complete with electronics - that's where all the NAV gear was, you know). Then the first stage... All separated by a couple of inches, mounted on a board with a plexiglass case.

That's what I envision at least. And I'm not gonna do the kit box-stock, either. I'll be adding whatever I can from wherever I can get it. Be it the NSM command module that gets sacrificed or the "tube" portions (I will NOT use those crappy plastic shetts, thank you! - I plan on using some real plastic tubing). More detail in the engine areas. Getting the asbestos tiles right on the first stage...

That's the plan. Getting around to it, though, is another issue. Perhaps my 6 and 8 year old will make me a granddad first, but hey, I have a dream...

Best to all.

Hello,

I am owner of New Ware. You may to order this set directly from me or from Victory models. Victory is probably out of this set now, but has already ordered some new ones, which will be sent within next 2-3 weeks.

I am not sure when Phil Gore has bought the set, but now the set is offered together with photo CD (50 detail photos of Saturn Vs displayed at NASA centres) and NWD006 decal set (154 decals).

New Ware is producing about 60 other detail sets and kits. We are at most specializec to 1/48 soviet spacecrafts and 1/144 US launch vehicles, but we are producing also expanding line of space-related figures as 1/24 Last Men on the Moon (do you know that Eugene Cernan has Czech roots?), 5 different 1/48 X-15 conversion and detail sets and a lot of more (1/72 V-2 family rockets, 1/48 NOTS launch vehicle conversion for F-4D Skyray...).

You are weclome to New Ware!

the entire new Ware line can be ordered directly from New Ware following the instructions on its web site www.Mek.kosmo.cz/newware. It is very easy to order form them and Tom Kladiva provides great service.

They also have an American distributor, Victory models whose address is

 www.Victorymodels.com

I am sure that due to the publication of the alrge aarticle by Phil Gore on the Saturn V detail sets, both will have ample supplies.

Sorry, I don't follow what you're asking. There's contact information on the website. Just email him directly and ask what you need to do to purchase something. That's what I did.

Is it the "snail mail" route or the list everything as a .gif or such so that the e-message wouldn't be noticed as a "wanna buy" type letter that could get 'jacked?

It looks like my best bet is to do the same as you- any pointers?

Actually, I ended up contacting the vendor directly. He gave me instructions on sending the money and having it shipped to the US. Actually pretty painless. It will take a few weeks to get here, but that's no real biggie for me.

I'm at a loss for a US provider/dealer as well- I'm looking to get a set of NW 051 Apollo Astronauts for my Monogram kit- they look so well done!

In the interim- I'll keep my eyes open and look out for you!

Modelers, I'm trying find someone in the US that has this kit. Both Cutting Edge and Victory Models don't have them in stock. Is there anywhere else in the US that may have this kit?

Thanks.
