I had to make the parachutes and the wiring cable.  It is not accurate but I had a real pleasure to make it cause it is one of my first model after my rebirth as modeler.  I would do it better now but ... I recommand this kit without a doubt.  Have fun.

Wow that looks great! I wondered about that kit. I going to have to get it now. Did you do any extra detailing or is all of that included with the kit?

Thanks for the info Yann. BTW I checked the FSM archive and that kit was reviewed in the April 2005 issue pg. 61. Time to break out the 2005 FSM binder :-)

Awesome job Yann!!!  Could you give me the kit info please?

That kit is made by Atomic City and distributed by MRC. It is at 1/12 scale and the name is Mercury Project.  www.Megahobby.com as some in stock at a retail price of $59.99.  It wort it.

I've never seen a kit fitting so well and so finely detailed.  Even if you don't make any extra detailing that kit is awesome.  Be prepared to make some research to paint it correctly and to put the decals because the instructions are not very clear about that.  Other than that, that kit is perfect.

Have fun, and contact me if you need some help during the building or about taking pictures of so you can share it with us, I'm a amateur photograph also!

Here is my almost finish mercury model, I say almost finish because I did'nt put the clear coat yet.  I have a bottle of Future but I want a semi-gloss finish and I will have to mix it with something else.

I made some extra detailing in the cockpit and in the parachute compartment.
