STC Start International Space Station opinion(s)

I've been gettting back into model building and started with a Heller kit of "Mir" (reviewed elsewhere).

After that, I wanted to do the ISS, but really didn't want to pay the big bucks for some of the available kits (150$ and up)

I found on eBay the STC Start kit and after reading reviews of STC Start models on the web, bought it.

Today it comes in. Granted it's 1:288 scale, but the kit claims to build to ~18 inches.

Long story short, the quality of the kit *blows*.

There is massive flash on all the parts, the details are missing in all but the most obvious places, and the plastic is so thick that the solar panels would scale up to 12 feet thick.

All in all, a total waste of time and money.
