My 1/48 Gemini

Thanks for commenting on the Saturn V.  You can find some additional photos on the IPMS Houston website from last year's contest.

I just saw this... it IS a gorgeous build! Hopefully down the road I can re-build those space revell kits I did as a kit and are (apparently) being re-issued. I will save your pics with those of a very very fine Saturn V that graced this page not that long ago.. again, great job! Cheers

Fine job, Pete - I can remember watching Gemini launches on TV when I was a kid.

She happens to be the owner of the company.

The non-cardboard pieces are resin and milled aluminum.  Take a look at the Saturn V.  The reason this caught my interest is that I am planning an all 1/48 Mercury, Gemini, Agena, Saturn 1,  1B, little joe, Skylab and V display and this looks like it did quite a bit of the work but I am leary of how poorly the rockets photograph.  I don't know if it is because of the dope to cut wind resistance or the model itself.  Has anyone heard of anyone else who offers these in this scale?  I know Nick Proach does but that is way out of my price range.

Never heard of those before, I googled it and to my surprise, the Internet content filter blocked the site... after disabling it I saw why

She indeed has very nice rockets although a bit too pricy considering it's mainly cardboard and foam. (the flying ones I mean, although the others are probably silicone as well )

excellent build!  This has always been one of my favorites because of the scale and how it can be detailed.  Chocolate bars have always been my main source of gold foil once they stopped selling the Ring Ding Jrs. 

Has anyone built any of the CJS 1/48 models?  They have a 1/48 Gemini Titan that I am very interested in as a static model but am not crazy about the cardboard tube included in all their kits.  I was wondering if anyone has built one and replaced the tube with a PVC pipe or has some other was to finish the cardboard to make it look good.

And I, too, remember slapping together these models when I was a kid and being quite happy when it was completed ... usually in an afternoon! Then tearing off the nose cone and shoving a parachute into it and tossing out of the 2nd floor window. ( It worked too!) Just the fact that it looked like the real spacecraft was enough for me ... then the imagination took over.

Now, it is a trip down memory lane, with the added satisfaction of representing this spacecraft a little more accurately ...

Man, looking at these pics really takes me back. I built this same kit when I was ... 10, maybe? And was estatic when it all fit together pretty well and the decals stayed longer than overnight. You have done a great job of updating and presenting what was, even then, a very mediocre kit!

I'll been looking to purchase this model but they are going for more than I want to pay on ebay and that is the only source I know of.

I will definitely save these pics for future reference.
