Revell 1/110 scale Saturn (Juno1) rocket and Explorer 1

I am building the Saturn (juno 1) rocket and explorer 1 from Revell in 1/110 scale.

The kit is a re-issue of the original 1958 kit. The body of the rocket has very small raised rivets and raised panel lines.

As far as I know and judging by the photos I have found, the body should be smooth particularly in this small scale. On the other hand if the rocket had these rivets then they should be left in place.

Would someone please advise as to whether or not I should sand the entire body smooth and then paint it or should these raised rivets be re-installed along with the raised panel lines.

Many thanks for your help.

I would sand them all off and maybe lightly rescribe the panel lines.  The body should be smooth.
