Chris Chulamanis at EVA models
Posted by mallagoodee on Friday, January 11, 2008 6:56 AM
I just read that Chris Chulamanis, owner of EVA Models has passed away.

I had just completed his superb little 1/32 LRV model and had requested another standing Astronaut figure to augment the diorama. We had exchanged emails and phone calls and he was so pleasant, accommodating and willing to do whatever it took to make me happy. He even generously threw in extra parts to help to just sweeten the deal. I last heard from him about 14 days ago, just checking to
see if I'd received it over the Xmas crush. An illustration of his consideration and top drawer professionalism.

He was indeed a wonderful guy and a real asset to our community.

I will miss him.

Chris was a great guy to work with and I liked his product. It made realspace in a nice scale affordable.  I have a couple of his standing astronauts and the decals he had made and enjoy displaying them. Over the years I have recieved quite a few compliments.

Tomorrow we will be doing a group demonstration at the USS Kidd again. I will make sure to put them on display.

Does anyone know if there is someone else doing/continuing to make the kits that Chris produced. Has his family closed the business?  Like everyone else I was saddened to hear of his passing.   I recently was clearing out my storage facility and re-discovered my box of completed and unbuilt kits.  I was just curious if the tourch had been passed. Thx
