International Space Station

Did you ever wonder just what the International Space Station looks like? As this thing has been assembled over the last several years, there has always been reports with names of components and a description of them. This video is a graphic summary of the whole project with names of each component as they are added or moved around. I found it very interesting.

Darwin, O.F.  Alien [alien]

no offense to supporters of the iss, but i think it's a real white elephant (useless). i've heard that it'll be obsolete before they finish building it. it's also a real drain on NASA's budget. they should have at least made it like stanley kubrick's 2001 station (rotational for artificial gravity).

As for the animation, it's quite good yardbird.

Good graphics but the white elephant tag is well founded.  Von Braun envisioned a space station as a means to an end.  A way station from which to construct larger vehicles to explore the solar system.  It was never meant to be a destination in itself.  If we had kept the Saturn V in production just think of where we could be today.  Political short sightedness gets us again and again.
