Black basing and hairspray chipping
Posted by Justinryan215 on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 8:39 PM

I am currently working on a Tamiya Zero in 1/48th scale, and as you all know, those things get pretty chipped...would going at the chipping while black basing the ijn green be the same with the hairspray technique be the same as doing it without black BASING?  Logic would suggest that it would, but has anyone had any experience trying it?

Yeah that's a tough one. I love black baseing and do it on everything now including ships, What I've done for chipping is black base, then spray aluminium where I want to chip, then use AK Interactives Worn Effects because it can be brushed on.
Spray the silver on lightly so the basing still works. It seems to work well enough.

I'm sure others have a better answer.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
