CRTs in 1/35 scale...
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 8:56 AM
How should I make CRT displays? The "frame" is molded in my model, and I'm thinking about using Tamiya clear green to fill it a little. Would this work? I only have one shot at it, and I (naturally) don't wanna mess up.

The CRT's I have seen (Aircraft), when turned off is more a gloss black when looking directly at it. When viewed at an angle they have a purple tint effect. When turned on, they have a green fluorescent background and a darker green fluorecent display or data information. I am sure armor would be much the same as a scope is a scope, installed in armor or an aircraft.

I use color photo negatives. The ends of the negative strips can be cut to shape and glued into the panel with white glue. Put the shiny side out. Using white glue, you can always get it back out if you don't like the effect.

Have you flown a Ford lately?
