Use decal setting solutions. I use Microset and Microsol. These will "melt" the decal into the panel lines and they will look painted on. For thick decals, you might have to gently and carefully cut through the decal along the panel lines to get the decal to lay into the panel line.

Make sure you seal the decals in with a coat of Future and then weather away!

To my knowledge, there are no Decals in real life on Military planes. Decals stretch over panel lines, so how do you weather a plane with large decals the prevent this. Short of stencils, I am lost.

I have a F-51D Mustang which I put a couple of wing decals on. I've seen Swanny's page on weathering, but those planes had small decals that fit between the lines.

What is the method that people use here? I'd rather not get or make stencils to paint the "decals"
