After reading Domi's weathering how-to post, I went out and bought some water and oil colors to give it a try. I'm "playing" around with the oils and they are really lots of fun (I'll get to the water colors later...). I can't believe how much you can blend these paints (oils). They're also somewhat translucent, so they're great for weathering.
To my question: Is there a way to make the oils dry faster? Or possibly just spray something on to seal them and do another 'layer'?
I've read that you can buy various 'thinners' that dry faster than others, but I'm not sure if that's the right way to go or not? I've heard/read that it's good to put on several 'sealer' coats (Future??) and work in layers, but I'm not sure I totally understand that?? Can I spray a sealer coat over top of oils before they're totally dry (or do I have to wait several days first)?? Will that allow me to work quicker? Would a food dehydrator help in this case??
