Chris ;

   It seems to me it is somewhat thinner overall and takes light steady burnishings well .The only thing you Don't want to do is generate heat ( yes you can ! ) while doing the burnish .This affects the sticky side . Also , don't leave it on for more than four hours after painting .

     I discovered it by accident at Radio Shack back when it was a division of Tandy , Corp .  Tanker - Builder

What are the advantages of using white electrical tape over other tapes? OP, can you elaborate?

Burnishing tape down over the canopy depends a lot on the quality of molding.  Current kit I am working on has nice square corners where frames meet transparencies.  Previous kit was terrible- the frames were wave shape that had no sharp demarcation where frames met plexiglas.  Yet the plane (B-18) had a very complex greenhouse!  Never finished model (and no mask sets available for it- I would sure buy one if they offered it).

White electrical tape? Didn't know they made them in white. Is white electrical tape thinner than black ones? Is it easier to cut? Does it leave any sticky residue behind? What about paint bleeding underneath the tape - even if it's burnished down really good? Curious ...

Egad , you're gonna hate me .

    I won't spend  any money on anyone's mask kits .Why ? Well , I am perfectly okay with doing what I have been doing since they invented white Electrical tape . I place the tape on the canopy in a shield that covers the whole thing .Then I burnish it down well , Cut off what goes and spray away .

   I have used this method for over thirty years without failure or bad masking jobs . To me it's simpler for 12 thumbs or 60 index digits ( Me ) to get it right . And it's a heckuva lot cheaper !

 Use them if you must . But I will stay with this tried and proven method !       Tanker - Builder
