That problem is why I don't use those masking fluids.  Even removing masking tape from windows can be a problem.  So for anything other than canopies (which can be easily glued back on if they come loose, I glue windows on with epoxy.  Do not use CA for windows- the CA can fog transparent material.

I have used alcohol to remove the adhesive residue from masking tape or BMF, but have not tried it on masking film.

Stuart06,

I have had a similar issue using micromask on smaller kits. I have found that even with paint on the mask, that a cotton bud saturated with warm water rubbed firmly over the mask will break down and remove the mask quite easily. Depending on the size of the area it may take more than a few cotton buds, but it works quite nicely and theres little to no chance of scarring up your clear parts as there would be if you tried to scrape it off with a knife, seam remover, or tweezers.

Hope this helps.

Micro Mask issue

I have a 1:72 tractor for an aircraft carrier, and it is fully enclosed with windows using Elmers glue to secure them.  I had to put the windows on first before final assembly and secured them with Elmer's glue.

When airbrushing, I covered the windows with micro mask.  Now that everything has dried I have to remove the micromask but some bits still remain and I dont' want to put to much pressure on the windows because I am afraid to push the windows back into the vehicle.

Is there any solven that I can use to get rid of the micomask residue and not harm the plastic window.  i.e. rubbing alchohol, windex...???

Now if I remove
