Hi

In this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGlWdG5sMIE

He claims he airbrushed these streaks on (at 5:08)

How do you do this?

Thank you

Tamiya please produce these models: TOG II*, Bob Semple Tank, Renault FT-17, Black Prince, 1/350 HMS Vanguard and more British stuff! If anyone works Tamiya or can pass this on, please do so!

Easy, either make a slightly darker tint of your base color and build it up slowly to indicate highlights, or, using highly thinned dark gray or even black (again, highly thinned) you would just build up filter lines to simulate the effect.

Wouldn't this thread be better in the Painting and Airbrushing forum?

Yep, what scapilot said - just use highly thinnned paint.  As a starting point, maybe try 1:10 ratio of paint to thinner.

Obviously need to be careful with pressure (not too high, around 15psi) and keep the needle dialled in fine.  Build up the streaks with a number of passes, don't try and cover it all in one hit - all you will do is create spiders and pooling with paint that has been highly thinnned.
