I am working on a 1/72 Bf-109 and am using a one-piece canopy. The front and rear portions of it seem to fit pretty well to the fuselage, but the center is leaving a large gap. I have had issues in the past where the canopy seams are usually the worst in the kit. I have already painted, so I hate try some kind of gap filler and then sand and repaint. Filling with Super Glue could give me crazing on the clear parts. I also seem to have a lot of canopies that are too narrow at the front or the back and the fit makes the kit look very unrealistic.
How do you all get past this one? Do I need to mask and glue the canopy to the fuselage before I do the actual painting?
