not sure where to put this thread----  finishing a little Simca5 and wanted to see if anyone else has doneone and had problem with fit of parts...  1st car in a long long time and its been a learning experience as usual.  problem with primer - sprayed from can in sorta clumps and wasnt able to get rid of all the bumps...  learned to check fit of doors, etc 1st - for some reason the doors didnt fit flush, so i cut a bit from the top of the door frane to squeeze the door in.  Didnt like the fit - so i filled the gap and will now glue the doors open.  Not SO bad on filling the gaps on the pieces i cut out Huh?.  also, for some reason the driver doesnt fit.  if i force him, the seat back really bends.  guess i can amputate his legs a little - but will most likely leave him out.

first time weathering - used flory washes.  1st time for everything.  just about ready to seal with flat clear coat.  i did get some orange peel.  what causes that?   tks and looking forward to some tips and comments...

Hey MM, don't know if your pics are displaying ok on your computer, but I can't see them. I just see the little 'broken picture' icons.

something is weird - i can see them....  i put a link to the folder.  maybe you can see that.  i think for some reason, maybe only folders show from google and not pics.  ive tried it numerous ways and cant seem to get it to work.

I can seem them now.

Don't have the kit, but strange to hear about fit problems, being a Tamiya kit and not an old one at that.  Was the problem apparent before or after painting?  I notice in the photos there is some paint build up.

regards,

Jack

i know I either hit it a little heavy with the primer and / or a little bubbling with the spraying of primer. Even at that point the doors weren't fitting flush. Smoothed out as much as I could. That's why I cut the top of the door frame to try and get them to fit. Didn't work so I built it back. Not sure why the driver won't fit.

I right-clicked one of the images, and it said it was a .png image with zero bites.  It apparently is hosted on some place called google content, but I am not familiar with that host.

but you can see them now in the folder, right?  Any idea on why the driver doesn't fit?  Or why my wash washed off?  Tks don
