How do you attach and finish the front windscreen/canopy on any airplane?

I bought my 5 second fix from the ad on TV. You get 2 complete set-ups . Well after about 9 months I exhausted the first tube only to find that the second unused tube was empty, so I called their service #

They really stood behind their product sending me 3 more tubes for the shipping price of $5.00

While the laser-set glue kit is pricey (10 to 12 bucks, including the laser), I am amazed at the amount of glue.  I have used it for about six kits now and it still is not empty, so the price per kit (if you use it only for transparent parts) isn't that bad. I see online that you can buy just the glue alone, but in big containers at big bucks, so when I run out of current gadget I will just buy another set- I am afraid of the lifetime of those big containers, at those prices.

I also have that type of glue.  I used it on a balsa kit of the Wright Brothers Flyer.  It really cut down on build time.

As a matter of fact I also tried the 3 second glue.  Both work fine for me.

On this P51 I am building right now, I did use the 5 second lazer glue to fill in some seams.  It seems (pun intended) to have held up.  I will give it a go on the windscreen.  I will leave the mask on as mentioned, mask for the anti glare panel and viola, it will be done.

 Jay-Jay and Don use a method I now use .This product , While pricey , can be a Godsend . Normally , I don't put on the windscreen till the plane is done to a point I won't mess it up .

 On those where there is no frame I leave them till I absolutely Have to install them . Lazer - Glue and done . T.B.

Unless the kit's engineering doesn't permit it, I will usually mask the canopy and then attach it.  I usually use white glue, or styrene glue.  Both of those help with filling any seams.  Then I will prime and paint.  I leave the masking on, till everything else is done.

I also have gone to the laser activated glues for transparent parts.

For the windscreens without the bottom frame area, I mask the panels before sanding/filing to protect the clear area.

I use the "lazer" type glue (5 second fix as seen on TV ) to attach my windscreens/canopies. It's crystal clear , doesn't craze the plastic and can be sanded or "smeared" to shape with a finger or Q-tip and is very strong. It's rather pricey but this stuff solves lots of modeling problems for me. i also use it to make small windows in a second.
