Only trouble I have ever had with Future is that if you spray it on, it is easy to overspray it. If you aren't sure, do a series of light coats about 20 minutes apart to make sure you are getting an even layer. Just wait until you see how well it improves the clear parts though!

rcochran,

If you're nervous about using future, then make sure you do a test piece on something other than your masterpiece. Future is pretty darn good stuff, but it's not foolproof. You'll find that it will generally look 'better' once it has fully dried (48 hours) than when you just put it on. It will generally level itself out pretty good and the biggest problem I have is with 'runs' (ie. too much future...)

Yes and yes. Coat with Future and let it dry or cure overnight before applying decals. The future produces a smooth surface for the decals. After puting on the decals, you can then coat with a dull coat. to get the flat texture you need. It will also help seal the decals. I always apply a second coat of future over the model after I have put on the decals. I will then spray a dull coat over it and this gives the decals that painted on look.

Another Future question

Another one of those questions regarding Future but I have not used it and I am nervous about the results.

I am building a B-17. I have airbrushed Light Gray on the bottom and Flat OD on the top. Prior to decaling should I airbrush the entire aircraft with Future, install the decals and then dull coat.

I assume the Future would make for an unrealistic finish if I did not dull coat the model after decal installtion.

As always input appreciated.
