If you must do chipping, which persoanlly i am not in favour of in large amounts, i do it after a wash but before dust and dirt effects.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I'm working on my sd.kfz 251 with an afrika korps scheme and want to weather it as much as I can; lots of chipping and some full body washes to really dirty it up. I'm thinking that you should do the chipping before the washes so that they can be weathered along with the rest but I figured there's no harm in asking before I do a bunch of work just to have it turn out looking strange.

If you should, in fact, chip before washing as I assume are there any interesting effects to be had by doing them in reverse?
