What is a problem these days is that there is now an acrylic lacquer.  I think in both acrylic paints and acrylic lacquers the binder/body is acrylic, but they differ in the solvent used, right?  For those who have used acrylic laquers, is their resistance to mineral spirits any different between them?

Thanks I've heard both, but most reliable sources tell me Acrylics are better.

You can use any basecoat, but if you basecoat with enamel  it needs to be protected by acrylic clear if you are weathering with enamels or oils.
