                        Building "Visible" or clear kits HELP!!

                        Just getting back into building some kits after a 40 year or say layoff - I have decided to build "clearview", "visible", cutaway type kits - just bought the Tamiya MIG and am looking for builing tips like best glue for the clear parts - how to polish clear parts - maybe someone knows of a primer published on the web or articles in past model building mags - other things like removing the mold marks and so forth - any and all help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - also suggestions of currently available kits of see through subjects - I do know about Ebay and watch the prices of the older stuff go through the roof like Renwall stuff - at any rate all help appreciated!!

                        dip the clear parts in future floor polish. I am building tamiya's clear me262 and I am using testors clear part cement. it works great!!

                        I haven't built a clear kit since Monogram's Phantom Mustang was released in 1963 or so, back when it had an eletric motor to power the gear and such, IIRC.
                        ANyway, what I would do today is paint a lilttle more than half so I could blend the seams in and leave portions unpainted to show off the interior details.

                        Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

                        Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you back in the hobby after such a long absence. Chris suggests using Testors clear part cement and thats probably the easiest option. If you can find a source, Jewelers watch crystal cement should also work well. For mold marks, injector pin marks, etc., about the only option is filing or sanding down with progressively fine grits. Finish up with a polish and Future treatment. Good luck, hopr it works out well.

                        Tamiya Model Magazine published several articles on build clear kits, sorry i can't remember what issues they are. i do remeber them saying that they didn't remove the ejector pin marks as it would have taken sooo much time, hope this helps
