Well, I found these photos of Protar hose clamp instructions.  I looks like I might be right, with inserting the clamp into the slot and bending it back on itself.  I just need to trim the remaining "tail" and little closer.

Thanks

I can't claim that my approach is the "right way", but it has made details like this easier. A curved bend this tight calls for a bit of annealing to release the spring tension in the PE metal. I use a bit of brass rod to form the loop/ring - clamping the rod to keep both hands free really helps. Normally, I can get a nice ring shape by bending the PE over the rod. If I need to slide it through a loop on the piece, the rod makes it easier to avoid losing the part to the carpet monster. Once I'm satisfied that everything is good to go, I slide the piece off and install it on the hose. For the Detail Master set, I want to say that the instructions have you fold the piece and add a bit of stretched sprue or styrene rod to simulate the fastener, but my memory may be off there. HTH

Help with PE hose clamps

Does anyone know the "right way" to apply these:

Spotmodel

https://www.spotmodel.com/product_info.php?products_id=49455

Detail Master

http://www.detailmaster.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Return_Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=detailmaster&Category_Code=DM-PhotoEtchedParts&Product_Code=DM-2480

I've made SpotModel clamps by wrapping around hose and sticking free end in little slot and bending back on itself.  Detail Master clamps have no such slot.  But I'm not very experienced at PE and something tells me I'm doing it wrong.

Thanks,

Dave
