When you are scraping canopy frame overpaints with a toothpick, dip the end in thin CA a couple of times and let it dry.  Stick it CA'ed end up in a piece of foam or a clip to cure to eliminate a drip on the tip.

Hardens up the tip to keep a point longer.  Should work on a chisel cut end as well.
