Dumas U.S. Army Tug ST-74
Posted by Sailor1874 on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 4:50 PM

Just started getting into scale modeling this past December. Got a Dumas US Army Tug for my birthday and I think I'm in over my head as a beginner. Ive only found one person who has logged this build and wasn't much help. I was doing ok in the beginning running into problems here and there but a quick internet search helped overcome them. Now I'm stuck and can't really go too much further until I can fix these

1) Anyone have any tips on how to get the contour of the deck and the house to match up?

2) Im having trouble soldering the two sections of railing together so theyre one smooth flush piece

3) The portholes on this boat are decals and I don't really like the look of it. Are their any alternatives to making my own portholes from wood or something?

4) After setting the pins for the railing into the drilled holes on deck the instructions say to put a dab of glue at the base to secure it but now theres too much glue. Any tips on how to remove it?

thanks in advance to any replies
