A Kickback to-Doubling Down
Posted by Tanker-Builder on Saturday, July 23, 2022 5:58 PM

Just thought I would add this!

When I was going through a way to make a more traditional Wheelhouse for the H.O. Lakes Freighter, I ran into a problem that fell right into this suggestion. Well I  just thought I would let you know how I solved the problem.

The Port and Starboard(Right and Left Respectively) back corners on the plans showed Round corners I did this. I put a doubler on both sides on each piece needing to be joined I then added another piece(A tripler?) that stuck out the thickness of the wall of a quartered plastic tube of the right diameter. Then Glued the tube's inside edge to the edge sticking from the bulkhead pieces. Viola! A nice rounded corner that took very little sanding after the glue dried.

So! Sometimes it's the same idea with Mods, Right? I am a firm believer in proper support but staying within scale looking product!
