Blurry cockpit glass.

Hey everyone, just sprayed my F-105g wild weasel and I sprayed a coat over it with future for decals. but I ran into a problem. After the future dried, the canopy was blurry![:0] Did I spray too much paint on it and let it dry like that? I don't know what I did wrong. Any help would be great, Thanks!Cool [8D]

Sounds to me like the Future is thicker in places than it is in others, and making it look blurry.

Windex will take Future off, but I don't know if the ammonia in it will fog the clear styrene or not. I don't think it will, but I'm not certain. Might try it on a piece of scrap and see what happens.

Windex won't fog clear plastic. I used it to remove a future build up one my windows the first time I brushed it on. Windex will work. I actually got some
plane ammonia because I though the windex was kind of weak. It 94 cents
gallon I think ( big bottle) at wal-mart. I'm not sure how the ammonia will react but i'm sure it won't hurt clear parts at all!
hope this helps!!!! Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]Cool [8D]

It fogged!!!Shock [:O]Disapprove [V] Oh it fogged!!!Disapprove [V] But I got it off thoughCool [8D]. I don't know why it fogged, but spraying Model Master sealant under the future might have something to do with it. It got all fogged, but the actual plastic wasn't fogged, there was this crusty foggy layer on the clear plastic. Just took a toothpick and scraped it off with no damage done to the clear conapy plastic parts. I know I'm not doing future to it anymore, at least for this build. Thanks for the imput everyone!

It sounds like the Model Master sealant is the problem, not the Future

So, basically we have a "Sometimes ammonia will fog styrene" situation Smile [:)]. Apparently all styrene mixtures are not the same. A good lesson for us to all remember, what worked one time may not work the next time.

Glad it all worked out though. Thumbs Up [tup]
